School Close/Reopen Status in 31 provinces/municipalities, China
Starting from March 16 till April 27, all 31 Chinese provinces/municipalities with schools staggered reopened. According to Chinese Ministry of Education, by May 11, 2020, there are more than 100 million students (elementary/middle/high schools, and colleges) returned to schools, which constitute 39% of total number of students in China.
1. Regions with Low Risk of Covid-19 Transmission
Few local and imported cases before and throughout school reopening.
2. Regions with Mid Risk of Covid-19 Transmission
Continuous imported cases and mixing with locals which can be tested, traced and isolated before and throughout school reopening. There are 3 province/municipalities with schools staggered reopening on April 27, 2020.
3. Regions with Cluster-Infection Incidents
Community transmission incidents, and/or spike of imported cases

Few local and imported cases before and throughout school reopening. From March 16 to April 23, 2020, there are 27 provinces with schools staggered reopened. Examples of Low/high population densities, low/high number of confirmed cases: Xinjiang, Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
